The Binding of Isaac Drinking Game

If you can understand what the hell was going through the mind of the creators, let me know!

Last week I put out an open offer for people to suggest games that I should look at to make a drinking game for.

Now I had several suggestions and I am still trying to work on ones for EVE & Hello Kitty Online Adventures – but here is the first of the suggestions I have managed to work one out for The Binding of Isaac

This incredibly fucked up little indie game, made by some of the team behind Super Meat Boy, is quite frankly torture in and of itself so why anyone would want to compound that by drinking as well is beyond me. However mine is not to question why I suppose.

Now for anyone that has not read one of these drinking games before, here is an important little fact. When I refer to ‘A Drink’ I am talking about a quick gulp of whatever beer takes your fancy. Personally that is Guinness, but you know what you can handle and I will leave it to your common sense beyond that.

Rules

The following two rules apply to the player only, upon triggering these two rules someone else needs to take over the controls

Death is only the beginning - When you die (and you will) and have to start again, Take 2 Drinks

A Slow Fall into Madness - When you drop down to the next floor, Take 2 Drinks

These rules are for everyone else in the room, when you see these things

The Nicest Friends – When Isaac stumbles into a boss fight, Take a Drink

Over Medicated - When Isaac pops a pill, Take a Drink

Power of the imagination – When Isaac finds a power-up, Take a Drink

Never Alone – When Isaac finishes a battle room, Take a Drink

All the best toys – When Isaac has to use an Item, Take a Drink

This game being as evil as it is, I class this as a Heavy drinking game.

Wipeout HD Drinking Game

That explosion in the background, its probably me! I may love this game but I truly suck at it

Back earlier this year when the Playstation Network was hacked, Sony offered a welcome back bonus of 2 free games when it all came back online. One of the games on offer was Wipeout HD.

This was good news for me as it was one of the games that I had missed due to buying my PS3 a little late.

So for everyone in the same boat who picked up a copy of this game than and those who just have it lying around, Here is a drinking game to help make this game even crazier to play.

Now for anyone that has not read one of these drinking games before, here is an important little fact. When I refer to ‘A Drink’ I am talking about a quick gulp of whatever beer takes your fancy. Personally that is Guinness, but you know what you can handle and I will leave it to your common sense beyond that.

Rules

This game is designed to level the playing field, so play Winner Stay On until the champion rule is applied.

Win or Lose – at the end of each race the winner has 2 Drinks, This Loser has 1 Drink

Play the Field – if you finish in the top 4 have 2 Drinks, Bottom 4 have 1 Drink

W-W-W-Wipeout – If you destroy your ship take 1 Drink

Champion – After winning 5 races in a row, everyone else in the room has to Finish Their Drink – at this point the champion passes the control to someone else.

Drinking Level: Moderate to Heavy

Dante’s Inferno Drinking Game

Why do people insist on taking pictures of me in a morning?

The moment I discovered the gate of hell mode in Dante’s Inferno, the drinking game jumped out of the screen at me. The game is designed around having a group of players and is only a few simple rules.

At the end of each wave you apply the rules and pass the controller to the next person. So that the game can last for a while you need to set the game difficulty too classic.

Now for anyone that has not read one of these drinking games before, here is an important little fact. When I refer to ‘A Drink’ I am talking about a quick gulp of whatever beer takes your fancy. Personally that is Guinness, but you know what you can handle and I will leave it to your common sense beyond that.

Rules

Your Time Has Come – At the end of the wave if you have more time than you start, everyone else in the group drinks, if you have less time you have a drink.

Hellbound Warrior - If you finish a wave with ‘Untouchable’ you also get to apply one of the following conditions to the next player

  • Pride – Next player can only use Cross attacks
  • Envy – Swap drinks with the next player in the next round (so if they should have drunk you get it, you get it and visa versa)
  • Gluttony – The next drink is doubled for whoever has to drink
  • Lust – Increase the difficulty for the next wave
  • Anger – Break the circle and pick who goes next
  • Greed – Choose to take another turn
  • Sloth – Choose to skip your next turn

After playing this game a few times at gaming nights, I would very much classify this as an Extremely Heavy game.

Resistance 3 Drinking Game

You need a drink to help cool down after burning all the nearby humans.

With Resistance 3 finally hitting shelves a few weeks back, I guess its time I took a look at its multi-player and knocked up a drinking game for it.

It seems that the multi-player experience has been tightened up for this third edition of the franchise. With player numbers reduced in matches and abilities rebalanced, this game is less likely to kill you and has also opened up a whole new set of drinking cues.

Now for anyone that has not read one of these drinking games before, here is an important little fact. When I refer to ‘A Drink’ I am talking about a quick gulp of whatever beer takes your fancy. Personally that is Guinness, but you know what you can handle and I will leave it to your common sense beyond that.

Rules

To the Captor the spoils! – In a Chain Reaction Match, take a drink every time you capture a command point.

Seeing how the enemy think – when you perform headshot kill, take a drink

Threes a crowd – When you perform a three kill streak, take a drink before activating the shield /stealth

That’s an impressive six pack – When you perform a six kill streak, take two drinks before activating the Auger

The whole nine yards – If you managed to complete the nine kill streak, then you have to finish your Drink

For obvious reasons then I would have to classify this as a Heavy drinking game

LA Noire Drinking Game

Cheer up bud, Perhaps the sequel will be a more entertaining game.

By special request of friend and Thirteen1 music expert Alec-Ross Bower, I have taken a look at LA Noire to create a drinking game. Now I have only the first few hours of this game and I would normally give it longer but I think there are enough repeated actions already to make this work. Personally I could not play the game sober as it bored the crap out of me, but it actually made it playable.

Now this is one of my few solo drinking games but it can also very simply be turned into a group drinking game by handing the controller to the right between cases and having everyone else in the room do the drinking instead of the player.

Now for anyone that has not read one of these drinking games before, here is an important little fact. When I refer to ‘A Drink’ I am talking about a quick gulp of whatever beer takes your fancy. Personally that is Guinness, but you know what you can handle and I will leave it to your common sense beyond that.

Rules

My Hats off to you: Whenever Cole manages to lose his hat Take a Drink if its shot off his head Take 2 Drinks

I’ll have a chaser with mine: Whenever the game suddenly throws Cole into a foot chase Take a Drink

Once a Beat cop, Always a Beat cop: Whenever a street crime comes in over the radio, Take 2 Drinks if you ignore it, Take 1 Drink if you handle it.

Someone has to pay for the damages: At the end of each case, Take 1 Drink for every $1000 of damage & injuries

Drink to forget: Whenever Cole has a flashback to his time in the army Take a Drink

Wasting police time: Whenever you pick up and inspect something on a crime scene that has nothing to do with the case Take a Drink

Nothing worse than self-doubt: During an interrogation if you having to back out of accusing the suspect of a lie Take a Drink

After playing this a few times, I can indeed confirm this is a Very Heavy drinking game

Gears of War 3 Drinking Game

Nothing like being the last man standing!

This week the Gears of War franchise returns with its third instalment. While I have never been very good at the multiplayer when taken online, it has been a regular feature of my gaming nights since first game.

That said, I have never sat down and thought about a drinking game for them as we are all usually pretty hammered by that point anyway.

So this release I think its time I fixed that oversight and have taken a look at the multiplayer modes with an eye to getting drunk.

Now for anyone that has not read one of these drinking games before, here is an important little fact. When I refer to ‘A Drink’ I am talking about a quick gulp of whatever beer takes your fancy. Personally that is Guinness, but you know what you can handle and I will leave it to your common sense beyond that.

Rules

Warzone & Execution modes

The other Carmine brother –  When someone on your team dies and you are still alive, Take a Drink.

Team Deathmatch

Pay the Reaper – When you have to use a respawn you have to pay the price. Spawns 20 to 11, 1 Drink. Spawns 10-2, 2 Drinks.  Final Spawn – Finish your pint

Capture the Leader

Your princess is in another castle – When your leader is captured, Take a Drink. If you then fail to save your leader before the 30 seconds is up, Take another Drink.

King of the Hill

This is my spot and I’m not moving –  When you capture a point, Take a Drink

Wingman Mode

Fallen Comrade -  Whenever your wingman dies, Take a Drink.

They made such a nice couple as well – Whenever a team is completely killed, Take a Drink

Beast Mode

Lambent Warrior – At the end of each wave the two players with the lowest kills must take 2 Drinks, Everyone else 1 Drink

That’s all there is too it, a simple set of rules for the multiplayer modes (above and beyond the classic, drink when you die). Because of how fast some of these events can occur is would classify this as a Heavy drinking game.
