The Binding of Isaac Drinking Game

November 5, 2011

If you can understand what the hell was going through the mind of the creators, let me know!

Last week I put out an open offer for people to suggest games that I should look at to make a drinking game for.

Now I had several suggestions and I am still trying to work on ones for EVE & Hello Kitty Online Adventures – but here is the first of the suggestions I have managed to work one out for The Binding of Isaac

This incredibly fucked up little indie game, made by some of the team behind Super Meat Boy, is quite frankly torture in and of itself so why anyone would want to compound that by drinking as well is beyond me. However mine is not to question why I suppose.

Now for anyone that has not read one of these drinking games before, here is an important little fact. When I refer to ‘A Drink’ I am talking about a quick gulp of whatever beer takes your fancy. Personally that is Guinness, but you know what you can handle and I will leave it to your common sense beyond that.

Rules

The following two rules apply to the player only, upon triggering these two rules someone else needs to take over the controls

Death is only the beginning - When you die (and you will) and have to start again, Take 2 Drinks

A Slow Fall into Madness - When you drop down to the next floor, Take 2 Drinks

These rules are for everyone else in the room, when you see these things

The Nicest Friends – When Isaac stumbles into a boss fight, Take a Drink

Over Medicated - When Isaac pops a pill, Take a Drink

Power of the imagination – When Isaac finds a power-up, Take a Drink

Never Alone – When Isaac finishes a battle room, Take a Drink

All the best toys – When Isaac has to use an Item, Take a Drink

This game being as evil as it is, I class this as a Heavy drinking game.

Wish You Were Here: End of Nations

53 Wish You Were Here is my version of photo-blogging for want of a better description, each month for the last year I have jumped into games that are in beta or newly released and taken a few screenshots. This is to help people get a view on what they are missing out on.

This one is from back in July after I returned from an early Pre-Alpha press preview of a MMO-RTS called End Of Nations.

Now its not very often I do this, but this month is going to have to be one of those rare occasions where I use screenshots taken by other people. However its for a good reason.

Because the game was in a Pre-Alpha state when I saw it last week, I was not allowed to take shots myself, but the guys a Trion were kind enough to give us a whole pile of screen so that you guys can check out the game in its current state as well.

Wipeout HD Drinking Game

That explosion in the background, its probably me! I may love this game but I truly suck at it

Back earlier this year when the Playstation Network was hacked, Sony offered a welcome back bonus of 2 free games when it all came back online. One of the games on offer was Wipeout HD.

This was good news for me as it was one of the games that I had missed due to buying my PS3 a little late.

So for everyone in the same boat who picked up a copy of this game than and those who just have it lying around, Here is a drinking game to help make this game even crazier to play.

Now for anyone that has not read one of these drinking games before, here is an important little fact. When I refer to ‘A Drink’ I am talking about a quick gulp of whatever beer takes your fancy. Personally that is Guinness, but you know what you can handle and I will leave it to your common sense beyond that.

Rules

This game is designed to level the playing field, so play Winner Stay On until the champion rule is applied.

Win or Lose – at the end of each race the winner has 2 Drinks, This Loser has 1 Drink

Play the Field – if you finish in the top 4 have 2 Drinks, Bottom 4 have 1 Drink

W-W-W-Wipeout – If you destroy your ship take 1 Drink

Champion – After winning 5 races in a row, everyone else in the room has to Finish Their Drink – at this point the champion passes the control to someone else.

Drinking Level: Moderate to Heavy

Wish You Were Here: Street Cleaning Simulator

Clean-up on main street Wish You Were Here is my version of photo-blogging for want of a better description, each month for the last year I have jumped into games that are in beta or newly released and taken a few screenshots. This is to help people get a view on what they are missing out on.

This one was taken back in August when I discovered a game so shockingly bad I just had to screenshot it.

One of the reasons I started the Wish You Were Here was to share images from games you may not have played. Now normally this would mean beta’s or games just released, but this month is a little different.

We have a bit of a thing here at T1 for weird and wonderful games that normal people would just ignore, this month I discovered one such game Street Cleaning Simulator. This game puts you in the heady world of street cleaning, running the company and even driving the cleaning trucks themselves.

Were not making this shit up this game exists, and here are the screenshots to prove it.

Dante’s Inferno Drinking Game

Why do people insist on taking pictures of me in a morning?

The moment I discovered the gate of hell mode in Dante’s Inferno, the drinking game jumped out of the screen at me. The game is designed around having a group of players and is only a few simple rules.

At the end of each wave you apply the rules and pass the controller to the next person. So that the game can last for a while you need to set the game difficulty too classic.

Now for anyone that has not read one of these drinking games before, here is an important little fact. When I refer to ‘A Drink’ I am talking about a quick gulp of whatever beer takes your fancy. Personally that is Guinness, but you know what you can handle and I will leave it to your common sense beyond that.

Rules

Your Time Has Come – At the end of the wave if you have more time than you start, everyone else in the group drinks, if you have less time you have a drink.

Hellbound Warrior - If you finish a wave with ‘Untouchable’ you also get to apply one of the following conditions to the next player

  • Pride – Next player can only use Cross attacks
  • Envy – Swap drinks with the next player in the next round (so if they should have drunk you get it, you get it and visa versa)
  • Gluttony – The next drink is doubled for whoever has to drink
  • Lust – Increase the difficulty for the next wave
  • Anger – Break the circle and pick who goes next
  • Greed – Choose to take another turn
  • Sloth – Choose to skip your next turn

After playing this game a few times at gaming nights, I would very much classify this as an Extremely Heavy game.

Wish You Were Here: Red Orchestra II Beta

Smoking! Wish You Were Here is my version of photo-blogging for want of a better description, each month for the last year I have jumped into games that are in beta or newly released and taken a few screenshots. This is to help people get a view on what they are missing out on.

This one was taken back in September while Red Orchestra II was still in beta.

This months Wish You Were Here places us firmly back in the beta territory, though strangely not one I would normally be taking part in.

Surprisingly for me, I have been running and gunning with the Allies and Axis in the Red Orchestra II: Heroes of Stalingrad beta. Unsurprisingly for me, I died A LOT!

So instead of just twiddling my thumbs whenever I was waiting for a respawn, I got down to the task of taking some screen-shots. Apparently I’m much better at shooting pictures than other people – who would have thought?
