Seems the Joker was more than ready for the launch of the Nintendo 3DS

Well as I said last week, one of my aims for this year was to get the podcast back up and rolling again. It was actually supposed to be last week that it started again as well, but unfortunately I got ill enough to call it off.

But last night we got things back in order and have finally started recording again. This will now be a weekly podcast, for that reason we are also going to start the numbering again.

So here you are, Episode #1 of The Drinky Talky Thing 2011

Here are the links to the subjects we covered in the podcast

I've taken so many of these now I'm starting to rattle

Well here we are again – another Podcast where we have to apologise for the delay.

Despite the fact that we all live so close together, finding those moments where all of our schedules have a gap has proved difficult.

As if to prove that fact, this Podcast is missing Craig Albeck is missing, being that he was on his way back from a micro-payment convention in London.

What you will also notice is different in this episode is that I am considerably more drunk than normal. This is a result of the fact that I have been on painkillers for back problems, and this is the first time in 2 weeks I have had anything to drink.

On that note I’ll let you listen to Me & Gow, Try and stay on topic.

As a bit of a warning as this was another catchup episode, it is once again over 2hrs long, but this time it seems like it would be better not to split it.

Oh and if you make it through the whole two hours and happen to be ginger, I apologise in advance :)

This Episode is Sponsored by this Child’s Play Charity – which has started taking donations for this year. For more information or to get involved head over to the site http://www.childsplaycharity.org/

For links to any of the stories, they can be found after the jump.

My Wife knows me too well, she went shopping and came back with these

So an hours worth of Podcasting and drinking was completed and all was well.

Common sense would have told us to stop and record another time, but we have never been ones for listening to common sense.

If you thought our usual Podcasting efforts were easily derailed from topic – well it seems greater beer = greater rambling – yeah we seemed to leave topic a lot more often in the second half of the recording.

I’ll let you get on with listening.

Part 1 is available Here if you have not already listened to it.

Now to mention our second Sponsor.

Sponsor #2

Our Sponsor for the second half of the Podcast is Tim Lumb (http://twitter.com/lolwithtim/) who came and did work experience at Thirteen1. He went to the EuroGamer Expo in London and brought back a code for a free costume pack for Little Big Planet – which he gave to me.

If you want to get yourself, your product or anything at all mentioned at the start of a Podcast – Simply become a sponsor by sending us something interesting (Beer is always a good option) if you can’t do it in person feel free to drop a Email to paddy@drunken-gamer.com and I’m sure something can be sorted out.

Vikings of Thule

The free beer that we got from Vikings of Thule, Sponsors of Episode 6

Yay, after a long delay were finally back.

Yes I know its been a while since the last episode of the Podcast, but unfortunately we cannot stop people getting ill.

Between the three of us, every time we set a new date for recording one of us would be put out of commission by man-flu, epic scale hangovers or just sheer exhaustion.

However we finally got together again and in order to put us back on track we have recorded a double length episode.  As a result some of this stories may be a bit older and obviously the longer recording increases the alcohol content had an impact.

Because of how long it is, I have split it into two parts – So here is Part one for you to enjoy.

Part 2 is available Here when your ready to listen to the rest.

Now we also have Two official sponsors to give shouts out  - I’ll mention one in each post.

Sponsor #1

The cool guys at Gogogic (http://www.gogogic.com/) who have released a facebook MMO called Vikings of Thule (http://www.facebook.com/vikingsofthule). They sent us a new poster for the office, as well as some beers called ‘Viking’ & ‘Thule’ that we enjoyed during recording.

The Last Cover that will be put together by Gow

Here it is Episode #5 of the Drinky Talky Thing, and one thing is for certain – We will not be recording another episode the day after a magazine launch.

With the lot of us worn out from the extra work we do getting an issue live, this tiredness has shone through – however in a unsual way makes it slightly more entertaining

Present as always were Paddy & Gow, Craig also managed to join us once again but unfortunately he had to leave at the half way mark when the tiredness got to him.

Also by now you would think we would have learnt how to use the technology, but no were still as slap dash as ever.

So without further stalling check out what happens when we combine tiredness, beer, microphones & some of the most interesting gaming news  - I think you will enjoy it

The Sponsor

The fine guys at Popcap who this week sent Paddy a review copy of Plants Vs Zombies XBLA, which has kept him more than happy ever since it arrived.

Yorkshire Puddings - The Ultimate Festival food

Well it may be late but it’s finally here, Episode 4 of the Drinky Talky Thing.

If you didn’t know that Gow, Myself & Craig were at Leeds Festival at the weekend when we would normally record this.

This time Craig (AKA TurkeySaladBoy) managed to join us for recording.

Things get a bit weirder with the extra person, but I’m sure you will all still enjoy it.

To make things a little more fun Gow did his random word thing again – and some of the suggestions were just impossible.

So without further padding, give it a listen

Here are some of the things we planned to talk about

The Sponsor
Clearly has to be The Yorkshire puddings at leeds festival – a festival food with no equal, with so many various uses and fillings that we had previously not imagined Continue reading »
