A Week In #DailySongs Podcast Episode 5

Oh yeah.. My first themed week done in podcast form

So this week I decided to go with a themed week on my DailySong’s.

This is also the first themed week that I have had to do as a podcast.

I’ll be the first to admit that some of the track introduction on this one are a little lame, as you see most of the tracks were randomly picked from a list of 90′s classics.

This resulted in less reason for each track and it really shows through on some of the tracks.

Well next week I hope to have a guest on the podcast, a few people are starting to join me in #DailySong and I feel it would be worth at least trying to bring one of them along.

Yeah - Lets blame it on the cat....Wait I don't have a cat...

So regular visitors, if I even have any of them, will have noticed that this podcast is now very late. In fact this is going to end up as a double post with this weeks podcast.

Now the reason for this is twofold. First reason is that I was technically on holiday this week so wanted to do as much relaxing as I could. The second however is that the world doesn’t seem to like me taking a break.

So many things that had to be done this week I’ve been almost as busy as if I had been at work.

Anyway the weeks songs were a bit of a mixed bag, but don’t just take my word for it give this episode a listen.

Hopefully I have managed to explain most of the tracks properly, unfortunately I have the memory of a mentally retarded goldfish that has smoked too much weed at the best of times, so it takes some remembering why I picked each.

Even this would have been of more use that the current server situation

Even a box marked 'Server' Would have been better than the situation I have had chasing up the new Thirteen1 Server

Ok I have to start by asking myself a simple question, Why in the hell did I not do these updates as a Podcast from the very start?

This is now the third Week in #DailySong update I have done this way and I’ll admit that I am finding it rather enjoyable.

When I worked my way back through the tracks I realised it was quite a matching week, with only a few curve-balls in there.

I will try and be a bit more sporadic this week.

Before I Wrap this post up for the week, there are a couple of sites that I would like to mention first

Firstly http://radioactivestate.com/ This is the Podcast that I mention that is run by Krystalle Voecks (Really am sorry if I pronounced that wrong) and if I’m being honest the main kick to do this in Podcast as I was so impressed by her first episode of that – Seriously go check it out after your done listening.

The second is http://freeplaymusic.com/ I Discovered this site today after deciding that I was going to put some background music in to make my explanation segments sound a little less hollow – all of my backing music came from that site and as it was free I feel they deserve a plug for that.

Anyway that it for this week.

Me out enjoying a classic St Paddy's day - I'm like a magnet for Guinness merchandise

OK after deciding to do my ‘Week in #DailySong’s’ updates as a podcast last week, I am now even more sold on the idea of podcasting than I already was before.

Even though many of the days fell into the class of ‘cant think of a song to round the day up – oh where did that one pop into my head from’ I have enjoyed all the songs this week.

I think because I knew that I would be listening to them all again as I recorded this.

Made only a few minor tweaks to this weeks – the tracks now bleed in and out of my babbling between them & I have slightly increased the volume on my microphone.

As you can see another fairly eclectic week for my output but a good one none the less I think.

Like always any comments would be great, as long as they are not very clearly being written by those WP spamming bots – seriously do they really think anyone is going to let them past approval?

However genuine comments about ways to improve this podcast or suggestions for themed weeks will be happily accepted with open arms

This has to be one of the best covers Gow has ever done - even if he didn't realise that it wasn't real SC II characters

Well its a few days late I know but I have been busy.

Hopefully however I will have done enough to make up for the delay if there is anyone that checks in to see this stuff regularly.

You see, I thought that the previous Week In #DailySong updates were getting a little to text heavy.

I also realised that I had promised to do a Podcast somewhere back in the first days of this blogs rebirth.

So I killed Two birds with one stone, I’m pleased to unveil the Week In #DailySong’s Podcast.

Rather than just put a stream of text about why I have picked the song, I’ve just recorded myself explaining why and also now tacked the song into the podcast so you can listen without having to head off to song,ly or similar first.

Now obviously being the first one and also because I decided to do this at the last-minute this one is a bit rough & ready, over the next few I’ll try to refine it.
