Episode #46: The return of the TurkeySaladBoy

November 25, 2011
By

Well another week another episode of the podcast and boy was it a good one – after months of chasing him to come back and join us, we were finally rejoined by the legendary TurkeySaladBoy.

It is always a good laugh to get Craig involved because he brings such a  different take on gaming, being the only one of us that really still works in the industry. It also gives us a new take on some of our old arguments.

Oh, and the reason the podcast picture this week is actually a video – well part way through the show I messed about with the Just Dance 3: Autodance App and made one of the most epic videos of Gow & Craig you are ever likely to see.

Were all still growing Moustaches for Movember so you want to help us in our good cause then you can donate to us for our madness at http://mobro.co/DrunkenGamer.

Anyway on to the podcast and as always links to almost all the topics covered in tonight’s show are available after the jump.

Also as always we are still taking suggestions for the mid podcast songs. So if you have a suggestion for song to be included in the podcast then put it in the comments of this post or send them too @DrunkenGamer or @D_Gow . They will be put on the short-list and you will be mentioned in the podcast itself when played

Anyway enjoy this episode of the Drinky Talky Thingy.

Also for while now listeners have been asking for a way to buy us a beer and help us get drunk for their amusement, well now we have found a way. We have set up an Amazon wish list full of beer and sugary things that you can send to us (trust us were just as funny hyper as drunk). Anyone that does so can send any message with their beer and we will say it in the show. Amazon.co.uk: Drinky Talky Thing

Episode #45: Late to the Party, but still lots of fun!

Not entirely sure what PETA were thinking with this advert - I want meat more not less now!

Not entirely sure what PETA were thinking with this advert - I want meat more not less now!

As you know there would normally be an intro here that was in some way related to something that we said during the podcast however this week we ran late recording, and I had visitors on Friday night – So as I have slept twice since then what was said during the podcast is a complete blur too me.

All I can be certain of is that we talked gaming news, took the piss out of each other, fucked up at some point during recording and got drunk. Seeing as I remember the hangover Friday morning the last one is a certainty.

Were both also still growing Moustaches for Movember so you want to help us in our good cause then you can donate to us for our madness at http://mobro.co/DrunkenGamer.

Episode #44: Timed to perfection, Styled like a boss

November 10, 2011
By

Ok Saints Row 3, you will I'll buy a copy just leave Mr fluffyboots alone!

Its taken 11 months of trying, but after 44 episodes we finally did it. We have finally stopped an episode of the podcast at an exact second!!

Seriously, this podcast is 2hrs 5 minutes and 00.000 seconds long. I have been aiming for that level of perfection ever since Gow mentioned his OCD regarding this matter and infected me with it

You will also notice that this week we finally got a soundboard working, now were not sure if its working correctly – were hoping that you guys will tell us if it is not but its there so listen out for it.

Other than there there is the usual mix of gmaing news and myself and Gow going off topic along the way.

Were both also still growing Moustaches for Movember so you want to help us in our good cause then you can donate to us for our madness at http://mobro.co/DrunkenGamer.

The Binding of Isaac Drinking Game

November 5, 2011
By

If you can understand what the hell was going through the mind of the creators, let me know!

Last week I put out an open offer for people to suggest games that I should look at to make a drinking game for.

Now I had several suggestions and I am still trying to work on ones for EVE & Hello Kitty Online Adventures – but here is the first of the suggestions I have managed to work one out for The Binding of Isaac

This incredibly fucked up little indie game, made by some of the team behind Super Meat Boy, is quite frankly torture in and of itself so why anyone would want to compound that by drinking as well is beyond me. However mine is not to question why I suppose.

Now for anyone that has not read one of these drinking games before, here is an important little fact. When I refer to ‘A Drink’ I am talking about a quick gulp of whatever beer takes your fancy. Personally that is Guinness, but you know what you can handle and I will leave it to your common sense beyond that.

Rules

The following two rules apply to the player only, upon triggering these two rules someone else needs to take over the controls

Death is only the beginning - When you die (and you will) and have to start again, Take 2 Drinks

A Slow Fall into Madness - When you drop down to the next floor, Take 2 Drinks

These rules are for everyone else in the room, when you see these things

The Nicest Friends – When Isaac stumbles into a boss fight, Take a Drink

Over Medicated - When Isaac pops a pill, Take a Drink

Power of the imagination – When Isaac finds a power-up, Take a Drink

Never Alone – When Isaac finishes a battle room, Take a Drink

All the best toys – When Isaac has to use an Item, Take a Drink

This game being as evil as it is, I class this as a Heavy drinking game.

Episode #43: Sporting a Moustache for Movember

November 4, 2011
By

I hope my Moustache is this epic by the end of Movember!

Well were here another week in and good news people, I did not have to record this episode of the podcast all alone. No, thankfully Gow was back this week.

However before we start on the podcast I want to take a bit of a detour. This month is most commonly known as November, however for the last few years it has been also known as Movember. This is due to a charity event aimed at raising awareness of men’s health, particularly prostate cancer, by having thousands of men worldwide grow a moustache.

Now normally I am fully bearded & Gow just simply does not seem to be able to grow facial hair at all, however we have both agreed to join in on this years event and will be growing moustaches for the cause.

If you want to help us in our good cause then you can donate to us for our madness at http://mobro.co/DrunkenGamer.

Anyway on to the podcast and as always links to almost all the topics covered in tonight’s show are available after the jump.

Wish You Were Here: End of Nations

November 3, 2011
By

53 Wish You Were Here is my version of photo-blogging for want of a better description, each month for the last year I have jumped into games that are in beta or newly released and taken a few screenshots. This is to help people get a view on what they are missing out on.

This one is from back in July after I returned from an early Pre-Alpha press preview of a MMO-RTS called End Of Nations.

Originally published in Issue #40 of Thirteen1 Magazine

Now its not very often I do this, but this month is going to have to be one of those rare occasions where I use screenshots taken by other people. However its for a good reason.

Because the game was in a Pre-Alpha state when I saw it last week, I was not allowed to take shots myself, but the guys a Trion were kind enough to give us a whole pile of screen so that you guys can check out the game in its current state as well.
